The history of YouTube is an incredible example of how social networks are taking over the Internet and our attention with no sign of stopping in the future. The history of YouTube begins in 2005 when three former PayPal employees came together with the hopes of creating a video-sharing website. They envisioned a platform that would allow users to upload, share, search and view videos online…a primitive idea by today’s standards but a daunting challenge in that era of the Internet.
